What Happens at an E-Z Photo Scan Clinic?
E-Z Photo Scan bridges the gap between people and the latest technology to make photo and document conversion easy and affordable. Once you have a scanned digital copy of your photos to keep and protect, you can create all sorts of things from your photos without destroying your master copy.
The first thing that we are going to do is to organize your photos and get them ready for scanning. Your photos may be in an album, a box, or an envelope.
For our purpose we consider each of these individual albums, boxes, or envelopes a “batch,” just like in baking batches of cookies. Batches can be big or small. A “batch” just means that they have something in common and are all getting cooked at the same time!
If you have pictures in albums and want them returned to the album the same way that they were before scanning, we have digital cameras available for taking photographs of your album layouts to aid in reassembly later. Our team will gladly help you in this process. After all, we don’t want to end up with any extra loose photos just lying around. These digital layout pictures will help us to make sure everything gets returned to its proper place.
We will provide you photo-safe handling gloves if you would like to use them, along with special tools used to remove photos from self-adhesive albums and scrapbooks without damaging them and to remove any adhesive residue that may have collected on the photo over the years.
Once you have finished preparing your photos, they are ready for scanning!
To help keep things organized you will be assigned bins for your photos about to be scanned and for your photos that are finished scanning and ready to return to your albums, photoboxes, or envelopes.
One of our trained technicians will scan your photos as you watch. Or, if you’d prefer, you can scan your own photos with one of our technicians assisting you! With experience scanning thousands of photos, our technicians make scanning your photos fun and easy.
We use new, state-of-the-art Kodak photo scanning hardware and software to make sure that your photos are scanned with professional quality.
After scanning, your photos will be returned back to you in their organizing bins.
We will assist you to put your photos back into your albums exactly as they were before scanning if you’d like. Photos that were arranged in envelopes or boxes are reassembled in the same manner.
That’s it! Your print photos are now digitized.
As an extra bonus, our E-Z Photo Scan Team will deliver a special preservation disk or disks containing all of your scanned photos, along with a printed contact sheets so that you can easily know what photos are on each disk. The coordinator of this event will share more details about this with you.
Now you’ll have two copies of your photos.... The originals that you can continue to enjoy, and a scanned copy that you can use to get extra prints and preserve your photos for generations to come!
