Quick Start - Cleaning the Kodak P460 Photo Scanner

To get the best possible quality scans, the Kodak P460 should be cleaned every 50-100 photos scanned.

Kodak provides the cleaning kit when you purchase a new scanner.

There are two things that need to be cleaned: The rollers and the image sensor.

Start by cleaning the rollers.

To do this, press and hold the power button for 6 seconds to put the device into cleaning mode.

Insert the long, wide roller cleaner with the white sponge UP. The scanner will automatically clean its rollers and eject the roller cleaner.

Next, you will want to clean the image sensor to remove any dust that may be on it.

Power the scanner off and unplug it.

Insert the cleaning swab into the back of the scanner. Then slide it back and forth five or six times.

Return the swab to the far left side, and pull it straight out.

Your scanner is now clean and ready to go! If you notice fuzziness or strange stripes on your photos after cleaning it, simply scan the Calibration card to reset the scanner’s sensors.
